The measured values of both axes are displayed by green 7-segment displays. Versions are available for incremental signal transmitters with 1 Vss or TTL. Connection of 11 µA transmitters is possible using a signal converter. The reference evaluation also recognizes coded scales.

In the Orion II, up to 99 reference points can be stored in a voltage-failure-proof manner. The axis designation, the unit of measurement, the counting direction and a reference or adapter dimension are stored. The axis designations X and Z are fixed and cannot be changed.

With common TTL measuring scales with a 20 µm division constant, a resolution of 1 µm is achieved. With 1 Vss measuring scales with a 20 µm division constant, the resolution is less than 0.1 µm. The position display has all common display types, which can be selected individually for each axis.

Special Features

Geometric calculation functions allow the user to measure additional sizes on profile contours.

Radius: The radius and the center coordinates of a circle are calculated from 3 - 10 measurement points.

Angle: The angle of an edge/straight line can be determined from 2 - 10 measurement points.

The output of the measurement data, whether to a printer or other peripheral devices, can be done via the standard RS232 interface or via the USB interface. The transmission is triggered with the PRT button or by STX call (only RS232) of a connected computer.

The Orion II has the capabilities of label and list printing. Label spacing, left margin and page length can be set user-specifically. In addition to the measurement data or the parameters determined with the calculation programs, the reference point, the T-number and the operating mode are also output. A label then looks like this:

The UCount basic position display interprets linear and angular encoder signals and clearly shows the counter values. To achieve this, signal transmitters are linked to a computer (PC, notebook or tablet) through one or more USB counters from HEILIG+SCHWAB. The unique features of this position display include:
